The Conical Scanning Millimeter-wave Imaging Radiometer–Hyperspectral (CoSMIR-H) WHyMSIE Version 2 dataset is now available. This release from NASA's Global Hydrometeorology Resource Center Distributed Active Archive Center (GHRC DAAC) provides calibrated and geolocated brightness temperature measurements collected from the NASA ER-2 aircraft during the 2024 WHyMSIE field campaign.

CoSMIR-H measures microwave emissions across frequencies from 50 to 191 GHz, supporting retrievals of atmospheric temperature and moisture profiles, cloud properties, and precipitation characteristics. These observations help researchers evaluate hyperspectral microwave sensing capabilities and improve understanding of planetary boundary layer processes.

This Version 2 release bridges heritage CoSMIR airborne microwave observations with the enhanced hyperspectral capabilities demonstrated during WHyMSIE. The dataset supports continuity between earlier CoSMIR science investigations and future NASA atmospheric sounding and PBL mission concepts.
