Update: This outage is resolved. Both NRT and Standard products are available. Please see notes for each product type in the update below.

Beginning at approximately 02:30 UTC on April 28, 2026, Suomi-NPP data became unavailable. This outage impacts the following processing streams:

  • Near Real-Time (NRT): All NRT data products distributed via LANCE. Update: Data processing from May 1, 2026 at 05:00 UTC onward has been restored. 
  • Standard Products: Leading-edge daily products, as well as any multi-day (n-day) products that overlap the dates without data (e.g., 8-day and 16-day composites). Note: Monthly and yearly standard products are not impacted. Update: The total anomaly outage is from 2026-04-28 00:00 to 2026-05-01 05:00.  Data from 2026-05-01 05:00 onward will be generated using the revised set of L1B Look-Up-Tables provided by the VIIRS Characterization Support Team (VCST).
