The Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) has released four ECOsystem Spaceborne Thermal Radiometer Experiment on Space Station (ECOSTRESS) Version 3 products of Level 3 and Level 4 data. The ECOSTRESS instrument aboard the International Space Station (ISS) acquires thermal infrared measurements at 70-meter spatial resolution.
The Level 3 products provide evapotranspiration (ET) estimates using the Priestley-Taylor Jet Propulsion Laboratory (PT-JPL) and auxiliary meteorological approaches, while the Level 4 products deliver evaporative stress index (ESI) and water use efficiency (WUE) estimates derived from the Level 3 ET outputs. Version 3 incorporates improved geolocation correction and an updated cloud mask relative to prior versions.
This initial release will cover data acquisitions from October 1, 2025, to the present, with historical processing of the ECOSTRESS acquisition archive planned at a later date.
