On August 19, 2026, NOAA started producing a new version of AUTOSNOW data that incorporated AMSR3. The GPROF STD (not CLIM) algorithm preprocessor is intended to choose the best input, but unfortunately, it was selecting older SNOW data for processing and neglecting to use any of the new v1r1 data that includes AMSR3. The Precipitation Processing System (PPS) has temporarily halted V08 GPROF processing, and the algorithm developer will correct the problem soon.
This data recall impacts the GPM v08 collections listed in "Referenced Datasets" from August 19, 2026 to the present.
