NASA's Global Hydrometeorology Resource Center Distributed Active Archive Center (GHRC DAAC) has released the raw output files from individual sensors used in the Mid-Atlantic Lightning Mapping Array (MALMA) Version 1 dataset. MALMA provides three-dimensional lightning observations generated from combined processing of the Washington, D.C. Lightning Mapping Array (DCLMA) and the Wallops Flight Facility Lightning Mapping Array (WFFLMA) networks. The raw files provide the output from the individual sensors.
The MALMA data files are available in ASCII format for the period from January 1, 2020, through April 4, 2026. Data collection is ongoing.
