Status Update on DMSP Data Products

Data Update
Issued
July 9, 2025
Resolved

To ensure a seamless transition of data from the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP), the Department of Defense has worked in coordination with NASA, NOAA, and other departments to extend the timeline for decommissioning of the satellite by 30 days. This will allow our teams time to adapt and implement algorithms and workflows that currently rely on this data. See the full update on the NOAA Office of Satellite and Product Operations site.

Please reach out to Earthdata Support if you have any questions or need assistance with the transition.
