VIIRS Version 2 Actual and Potential Evapotranspiration Data Products Released

NASA's Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) announced the availability of the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Version 2 Actual and Potential Evapotranspiration data products at 500 meter resolution. VIIRS Version 2 includes data products from both the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) satellite and the NOAA-20 satellite, which was previously called Joint Polar Satellite System-1 (JPSS-1). Included in these VIIRS products are layers for composited Evapotranspiration (ET), Latent Heat Flux (LE), Potential ET (PET), and Potential LE (PLE), along with a quality control layer.

Users are encouraged to use the gap-filled products which are generated only at the end of a given year. Forward processing is available for VNP16A2 and VJ116A2 for users who need more recent data.
