The Global Hydrometeorology Resource Center (GHRC) Distributed Active Archive Center has released the Cloud Physics LIDAR (CPL) dataset collected during the West Coast and Heartland Hyperspectral Microwave Sensor Intensive Experiment (WHyMSIE). Thess remote-sensing data were collected when the CPL was flown onboard the NASA ER-2 high-altitude research aircraft during a field campaign from October 18 to November 13, 2024.
The dataset consists of measurements of backscatter coefficients, lidar depolarization ratio, layer top/base height, layer type, particulate extinction coefficient, ice water content, and layer/cumulative optical depth. The data come in an HDF-5 format.
