The EMIT L2A Estimated Surface Reflectance dataset contains estimated surface reflectance, the fraction of incoming solar radiation reflected by Earth's surface. Different materials reflect different proportions of radiation based upon their chemical composition, meaning that this information can be used to determine the composition of a target.

This tutorial shows how to open a L2A reflectance NetCDF file, inspect the structure, and plot the data spatially and examine spectra at a specific location. It contains a module with code to orthorectify the data using the included geometry lookup table and an also gives an example creating an interactive figure to display spectra at the selected locations on a map.

The GitHub EMIT Data Resources Repository contains python scripts and tutorials help people get started with the data. Access more information in the Jupyter notebook and HTML document.
