NASA's Level-1 and Atmosphere Archive and Distribution System Distributed Active Archive Center (LAADS DAAC) has started migrating data to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) commercial cloud platform. This presentation will describe the LAADS DAAC datasets that will be transferred to the cloud, beginning with popular instrument datasets from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS). Access to these and future LAADS DAAC datasets on AWS will also be described and a demonstration of how to download data from the cloud using the Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) direct access will be included.
