The NASA climate reanalysis dataset from Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for Research and Applications, Version 2 (MERRA-2) and the Land Data Assimilation System (LDAS) datasets, distributed at NASA's Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC), contains numerous data for atmosphere, land, and ocean, that are grouped into 151 products. The data are available as hourly, daily (hourly time interval) and monthly files.

During this webinar we will showcase the L3/L4 Subsetter and Regridder which is a powerful tool for downloading, subsetting and regridding selected parameters by region, and time. In addition, the interoperable services, such as Open-source Project for a Network Data Access Protocol (OPeNDAP) and GrADS Data Server (GDS) are provided for remote accessing data via using applications such as MATLAB, GrADS, R, Integrated Data Viewer (IDV), etc. Selected parameters for these data have been integrated into Giovanni, an online visualization and analysis system developed in-house at GES DISC. Giovanni has more than twenty visualization functions that enable easy and quick exploration of data by performing basic statistical analysis and comparisons between variables.
