This webinar shows new and experienced users how to use Vertex, the search-and-download client of NASA's Alaska Satellite Facility Distributed Active Archive Center (ASF DAAC). Focusing on Copernicus Sentinel-1 data processed by ESA, we will survey Vertex features (many of which are new or improved), demonstrate a search, and refine the results. For users who require more in-depth filtering, we will discuss how to export and sort metadata for user-selected products, and how to use sorted results for a search.

Finally, we will demonstrate downloading data via browser or using an ASF DAAC provided, pre-loaded script. synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data is increasingly used in research and applications across a broad range of fields. SAR provides all-weather, day-night, high-resolution, landscape-level data. Applications include mapping and detecting wetlands, oil spills, landslides, deformation, sea ice, and much more. ASF DAAC is a premier source of SAR data discovery and access for a diverse user community worldwide. Data is available from 1978 to the present.
