NASA's Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS) Project is pleased to announce the release of Dataset Interoperability Recommendations for Earth Science. This document contains a series of recommendations made by the Earth Science Data System Working Groups (ESDSWG) Dataset Interoperability Working Group (DIWG) that are meant to increase and enhance the interoperability of Earth Science data product files. The document outlines conventions for internal data structures and metadata to make EOSDIS data files in HDF and netCDF more usable with tools commonly used in the Earth science community.
DIWG is one working group within the broader ESDSWG, a NASA organization established by NASA Headquarters in 2004 chartered to focus on the exploration and development of recommendations for NASA Earth Science Data Systems (ESDS).
