The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Reprojection Tool (MRT) service and MRTWeb will be retired on July 31, 2017. The service option and MRTWeb both currently offer MODIS Version 5 data, which ceased forward processing on March 31, 2017. New and alternative tools are recommended below to access the MODIS Version 5 archive and the new MODIS Version 6 data collection.
The MRT service will be removed as a processor option for customizing products in NASA’s Earthdata Search and for performing a service in Reverb. As an alternative, users will be able to use the HDF-EOS To GeoTIFF Conversion Tool (HEG) processor option, which offers similar options to MRT. Data access is available via the application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis Ready Samples (AppEEARS).
Users of MRTWeb are encouraged to try other options for accessing MODIS data. Please refer to the flow chart below to see which tool is best for you.
