False-color image (Bands M11-I2-I1) of the wildfire in Portugal, dark red shows the area burned and bright red shows the active fire front with smoke emanating from the fires. This false-color image was acquired on 20 June 2017 by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument, aboard the joint NASA/NOAA Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) satellite.
