NASA Earthdata and the Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) have released four Level 2B datasets and one Level 3 dataset from NASA’s Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT) suite of data products. This release includes three Version 2 products (EMIT L2B Fractional Cover and Uncertainty, EMIT L2B Estimated Mineral Identification and Band Depth and Uncertainty, EMIT L3 Gridded Surface Reflectance and Uncertainty) as well as two Version 3 products (EMIT L2B Methane Enhancement Data, EMIT L2B Carbon Dioxide Enhancement Data).
These data products provide estimated mineral identification and band depths, fractional cover estimates and associated uncertainty metrics, gridded surface reflectance and uncertainty, and methane and carbon dioxide enhancement data used for identification of plume complexes.
The EMIT Version 2 reprocessing campaign for the historical archive, which includes several Version 3 collections, is expected to take approximately three months to complete. During this time, new acquisitions and reprocessed historical data will be delivered. An update will be posted once historical reprocessing is complete.
