NASA’s Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center (PO.DAAC) has released the Integrated Multi-Mission Ocean Altimeter Sea Surface Height (SSH) Version 6.1 dataset, which is produced by NASA Sea Surface Height (NASA-SSH) project contributors at Goddard Space Flight Center and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The NASA-SSH project page has more information on this work.

The dataset in this release provides a coherent, consistent SSH time series from multi-mission altimeter data, including TOPEX/Poseidon, Jason-1, OSTM/Jason-2, Jason-3, and Sentinel-6. It covers the period from September 1992 to January 2026. The time series is extended to include new observations periodically.

Compared to previous versions (v5.2, v6.0), this new version contains updated Sentinel-6A data and other revised auxiliary data as described in the User Guide. It is also the first version to rely on JPL-produced orbits based on data from GNSS receivers, whenever possible, throughout the entire time series. Files are distributed in netCDF4 format.

The dataset is described and discoverable via Earthdata Search.
