On August 3, 2021 the Suomi-NPP (S-NPP) spacecraft experienced a pointing anomaly from 12:46:45 UTC to 22:28 UTC. During this event, all instruments aboard entered safe mode. The CERES FM5 instrument did not collect science data from August 3, 2021 12:46:45 UTC to August 4, 2021 14:15:04 UTC. Available CERES data surrounding the event has been verified, and the data has been determined to be of science quality.
Delivery of Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) satellite data products will cease on November 1, 2026. Data users should transition now to alternative products from NOAA-21 and NOAA-20.
