NASA’s Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center (PO.DAAC) released the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) ancillary data products. The SWOT mission is implemented jointly by NASA and Centre National D'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) to provide valuable data and information about the world's oceans and its terrestrial surface water such as lakes, rivers, and wetlands. Datasets included in this release are described below with their unique dataset short names and digital object identifiers (DOIs):
- SWOT_MOE_1.0 (doi:10.5067/SWOT-MOE-1.0)
Medium-accuracy Orbit Ephemeris (MOE) provides the position and velocity vectors of the satellite center of mass used in forward stream processing, available with latency of < 1.5 days.
- SWOT_POE_2.0 (doi:10.5067/SWOT-POE-2.0)
Precise Orbit Ephemeris (POE) provides the position and velocity vectors of the satellite center of mass used in the first SWOT reprocessing, available with latency of < 35 days.
- SWOT_ATTD_RECONST_2.0 (doi:10.5067/SWOT-ATTD-2.0)
Satellite attitude reconstructed using onboard gyro and star tracker data, available with latency of < 1.5 days.
- SWOT_SAT_COM_1.0 (doi:10.5067/SWOT-SATCOM-1.0)
Satellite center of mass position with respect to its reference point, available with latency of < 1.5 days. This is a historical product and the most recently available file provides a complete history since launch.
- SWOT_L1_DORIS_RINEX_1.0 (doi:10.5067/SWOT-DORIS-1.0)
- SWOT_L1_GPSP_RINEX_1.0 (doi:10.5067/SWOT-GPSP-1.0)
Tracking data from onboard Doppler Orbitography by Radiopositioning Integrated by Satellite (DORIS) and Global Positioning System Payload (GPSP) instruments, each available with latency of < 2 days.
Please refer to the dataset landing pages for information about how to access SWOT data hosted at PO.DAAC, which can be accessed through the DOI links listed above. Users are strongly encouraged to read the SWOT User Handbook for guidance about data usage and the Product Description Documents (PDDs) for detailed explanations of data product content and format. The PDDs can be accessed from the respective dataset landing page(s).
