Description
MAIA_ANC_AGP_V005 is a pre-launch, simulated data product and should not be used for scientific research.
The MAIA Ancillary Geographic Product (AGP) is an ancillary data set the make available surface-based geographic data that is compiled and pre-processed for use as input to in-flight geometric calibration, mapping and Cloud masking. The collection of geospatial data represents layers of data including digital elevation models (DEM) stored as a set of geographically referenced tiles generally at 1km resolution and Albers Equal Area (AEA) projection. It also incorporates variables that present Orthorectified image maps; Ground elevation; Urban Industrial density; Population density; Land use and/or Land cover; and Monthly climatology of Normalized Difference Vegetation Indices (NDVI). The files are generated at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory semi-regularly and delivered to the NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC). Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC) at Langley, VA for incorporation into the MAIA operational processing system.
