The Rain in Cumulus over the Ocean (RICO) field campaign included measurements of precipitation in trade wind cumulus clouds, microphysics of the transition to a mature rainshaft, organization of trade wind cumulus clouds, and the wind cloud environment. The campaign supported science for the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) aboard NASA's Terra satellite.
RICO data were collected around the Caribbean islands of Antigua and Barbuda. The mission objectives involved providing information on cloud cover, cloud-tracked winds, stereo-derived cloud-top altitude, and cloud geometric thickness.
