SIF-ESDR

Solar Induced Fluorescence (SIF) Earth System Data Record (ESDR)

The Solar Induced Fluorescence Earth System Data Record (SIF-ESDR) delivers global, observation-based datasets of solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence to support research on vegetation function and photosynthesis, as well as related applications such as drought monitoring, agricultural yield estimation, land degradation evaluation, and carbon-cycle studies.

The project includes multiple SIF products derived from satellite measurements (e.g., GOME, SCIAMACHY, GOME-2, OCO-2, TROPOMI) as well as high-resolution, spatially-contiguous SIF estimates produced by fusing satellite retrievals and downscaling with MODIS and reanalysis predictors using machine-learning approaches.
