The Satellite Needs Working Group (SNWG) surveyed data-providing federal agencies to determine the highest priority user needs for Earth-observing satellite data products. The top priority needs identified were for measurements of surface water extent, surface disturbance, and surface displacement. NASA's Observational Products for End-Users from Remote Sensing Analysis (OPERA) project, located at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), utilizes data from satellite radar and optical instruments to generate products to meet these needs.
OPERA Burst_Database
Sentinel-1 IW Single-Look Complex (SLC) product frames are comprised of three subswaths, each containing multiple bursts. Since the spatial coverage of a burst is the same for each satellite orbit, bursts with the same burst ID will line up precisely over the same geographic location.
The OPERA Burst Database is an SQLite file generated by the OPERA Algorithm Development Team (ADT), providing relevant information on all bursts acquired during the Sentinel-1 mission, including relative orbit number (path), corner coordinates, and the projection system of the geographical grid used to generate each Coregistered Single-Look Complex for Sentinel-1 (CSLC-S1) product. Each burst ID in the burst_DB follows the same convention adopted by ESA (European Space Agency) for generating its burst map.

CSLC-S1 Product Calibration/Validation (CalVal) Database
A file containing the calibration/validation (CalVal) database for the OPERA CSLC-S1 product.

- Validation reports detailing the results of the validation process.
- A CalVal database reference document that details the contents of the database.
