ARSET and Earthdata Combine Forces

ARSET trainings are now available on Earthdata, streamlining user access to related data, tools, and resources.

NASA’s Applied Remote Sensing Training Program (ARSET), the training arm for the NASA Earth Action program, has a new home on NASA Earthdata, a one-stop-shop for exactly that: Earth data. This migration moves ARSET’s training content on how to use NASA remote sensing and tools for environmental management to where the data and tools are hosted, providing ARSET users with a more seamless experience.

NASA ARSET trains participants worldwide on the use of open-access NASA satellite data and tools for air quality, health, disasters, agriculture, ecological conservation, water resources, climate resilience, and wildland fire applications through both online and in-person training courses. These trainings are designed to fit the needs of those new to remote sensing and advanced practitioners alike, taking the user through foundational knowledge and theory, live demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and case studies.

NASA Earthdata provides open access to NASA’s archive of Earth science data. This website includes a data catalog, where users can explore petabytes of unrestricted Earth science data, as well as data toolsdata recipes, and tutorials that help streamline data search, visualization, and processing. Through the Earthdata Forum, users can connect with other remote sensing professionals and have their questions answered.

The integration of ARSET resources within Earthdata will streamline user access to the data, trainings, tools, and additional resources necessary to advance their remote sensing applications and research. As ARSET trainings are fully migrated into Earthdata, users will benefit from enhanced discoverability through filter options including application theme, level, and type.

Browse ARSET’s existing training opportunities or register for an upcoming training, and sign up for the ARSET newsletter to get email updates on new training opportunities.
