New Tutorial: View IMERG Precipitation Imagery in Worldview

Visualize daily-average and 30-minute IMERG precipitation estimates.

NASA's Worldview application allows users to discover and download more than 1,200 visualized satellite data products—a collection that was recently expanded to include Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) data products from NASA's Integrated Multi-satellitE Retrievals for GPM (IMERG). IMERG gathers data from a constellation of satellites covering our entire planet, and provides high-quality precipitation estimates even for remote areas that have no ground-based instruments. The IMERG database is updated hourly, making it useful for tracking weather events, and these data also help researchers understand the water cycle and and aids decision-makers working in agriculture, public health, energy, and transportation.

In Worldview, users can now visualize daily-average and 30-minute IMERG precipitation estimates (like the one above, which depicts rainfall during Hurricane Helene) in just a few steps. Read the tutorial to learn more.
