Snow in Sicily
Image captured on 12 January 2017 by the VIIRS instrument, aboard the joint NASA/NOAA Suomi NPP satellite. Snow cover data taken from the MODIS instrument, aboard the Terra satellite.
Image of snow cover across northern Sicily, Italy, the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, acquired on 12 January 2017 by the Moderate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument, aboard the Terra satellite. Sicily experienced heavy snowfall that left snow at lower altitudes, including the beaches in Salento.
