Study sites in the NWT included areas near Canoe Lake and Divided Lake; the study site in the YT was near Trout Lake. Specific attributes include dominant vegetation, species cover, and the physical characteristics of the plot areas. A soil pit was dug at each plot and the physical and chemical characteristics were determined for soil horizons.
