Rains From Ex-Tropical Cyclone Esther Bring Floodwaters to South West Queensland, Australia

This false-color corrected reflectance image shows floodwaters in South West Queensland, Australia, due to rains from ex-tropical Cyclone Esther. The image was acquired on 7 March 2020 by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument, aboard the Terra satellite.
View this before and after comparison of imagery from 27 February 2020 (left) and 7 March 2020 (right) of the floodwaters appearing after the heavy rains from ex-tropical cyclone Esther. The false-color image is composed of MODIS bands 7-2-1 where liquid water on the ground is shown in blue since it absorbs in the red and the short wave infrared.
