Featured Diseases/Epidemics Observation Method: MODIS
The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) flies aboard the Terra and Aqua satellites and can survey Earth every one to two days. The instrument can be used in a variety of ways related to disease emergence and spread including to measure land surface temperatures, assess moisture levels, track human activity levels, and map flooded areas.
