The Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) announced the release of Version 3.64 of the Application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis Ready Samples (AppEEARS). This release adds a “Spectral Comparison” tab allowing visualization of point samples from the Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT) mission.

Using the “Spectral Comparison” tab, users can compare extracted point sample spectra from the EMIT L1B At-Sensor Calibrated Radiance and Geolocation Data (EMITL1BRAD v001) or EMIT L2A Estimated Surface Reflectance and Uncertainty and Masks (EMITL2ARFL v001) products. Up to three spectra can be selected based on their unique point ID and date/time using a dropdown menu, then compared in an interactive spectral plot. For additional information, view the Help page.

About AppEEARS

AppEEARS offers a simple and efficient way to perform data access and transformation processes by enabling users to download only the data they need. AppEEARS provides access to a wide range of geospatial data from multiple federal archives, including ECOsystem Spaceborne Thermal Radiometer Experiment on Space Station (ECOSTRESS), the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission, Daymet gridded weather parameters, ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model (GDEM) Version 3, and population information from the Gridded Population of the World (GPW) collection.

A complete listing of data products available in AppEEARS can be found on the Available Products list. Additional resources for using AppEEARS are available on the LP DAAC Learning Resources page.
