Description

CALIPSO-HSRL-Underflights is the High Spectral Resolution Lidar (HSRL) data during the Cloud-Aerosol Lidar with Orthogonal Polarization (CALIOP) instrument on the Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations (CALIPSO) - HSRL Underflights campaign. Data collection for this product is complete.

The CALIPSO spacecraft provided global, high-resolution profiles of aerosols and clouds from June 2006 to July 2023.

Across those years, the NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) HSRL was deployed on several different NASA aircraft for a total of 147 underflights of the CALIPSO satellite to provide validation measurements for the CALIOP data products. This special data collection includes the HSRL data files for the coincident underflights.
