We are in the process of migrating all NASA Earth science data sites into Earthdata from now until end of 2026. Not all NASA Earth science data and resources will appear here until then. Thank you for your patience as we make this transition.

ISCCP
International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project
The International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP) was established as the first project of the World Climate Research Programme (WCP-2) to collect and analyze satellite radiance measurements to infer the global distribution of cloud radiative properties and their diurnal and seasonal variations. The operational phase of ISCCP began in July 1983 and was initially planned to continue through June 2000.
ISCCP focuses on the distribution and variation of cloud radiative properties to improve the understanding of the effects of clouds on climate, the radiation budget, and the long-term global hydrologic cycle.
Note: Reprocessed ISCCP H series data products (HGM, HGH, HGG, HXG, HXS) for 1982-2015 are available from NOAA/NCEI.
