LANCE Data Access and Tools
NASA's Land, Atmosphere Near Real-Time Capability for Earth observation (LANCE) delivers satellite data and imagery much quicker than standard (science quality) processing—usually within three hours. These near real-time and expedited products help track rapidly changing events such as wildfires, dust and ash plumes, severe storms, changing air quality, sea ice movement, and other rapidly evolving environmental conditions.
Explore LANCE data by searching for a specific satellite, instrument, or keyword, and near real-time products, which are labeled with "NRT" to make them easy to identify. Many of these datasets can also be viewed interactively through NASA's Worldview tool.

LANCE Data Tools
| Tool Sort descending | Description | Services | |
|---|---|---|---|
| FIRMS | The Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS) provides access to satellite imagery, active fire/hotspots, and related products to identify the location, extent, and intensity of wildfire activity. | Access, Visualization | |
| FLOOD | The FLOOD viewer facilitates the use and evaluation of LANCE flood products by allowing the user to browse globally and over time, and to compare to other flood products. | Monitoring Natural Events, Search and Discovery, Visualization | |
| Worldview | Worldview offers the capability to interactively browse over 1,200 global, full-resolution satellite imagery layers and download the underlying data. | Analysis, Search and Discovery, Visualization, Access, Comparison, Monitoring Natural Events | |
| Worldview Snapshots | Worldview Snapshots is a lightweight tool for creating image snapshots from a selection of popular NASA satellite imagery layers. | Analysis, Search and Discovery, Visualization |
