The SAGE III/ISS solar level 2 expedited data product provides near–real‑time vertical profiles of ozone, water vapor, nitrogen dioxide, and multi‑wavelength aerosol extinction derived from solar occultation measurements collected by the SAGE III instrument aboard the International Space Station. Coverage spans roughly 60°S–60°N, depending on ISS orbit, with high vertical resolution (reported in 0.5 km steps) and occasional gaps produced by periods of instrument downtime, ISS obstructions, or geometric conditions that preclude valid occultations. Expedited processing applies the same algorithms as the standard monthly processing while using low‑latency meteorological inputs and streamlined QA, producing preliminary profiles comparable to the finalized monthly data. Data are provided as HDF5 files (one per occultation) using standard scientific units and requiring no proprietary software. These measurements extend NASA’s long‑term stratospheric composition record and support rapid characterization of aerosol events, near‑real‑time ozone and water‑vapor monitoring, and validation for other satellite sensors.
